- What is your labour rate?
We charge $60 per 60 minutes of work. Meaning each job costs $1 per minute. If something takes 28 minutes you are charged $28, we do not round up.
- Where are you located?
Our shop is in Winter Park, Florida. We are a suburb of Orlando. You can find all our contact information on the bottom of every page. You can email us through the site at the "Contact" page.
- What are your hours?
We are typically open from 10 AM to 5 PM, monday through Friday. We can usually make accomadations to meet anyones schedule. Just let us know.
- How much does a restoration cost?
This is the most popular question we get asked. Because there are many unknown or unforeseen repairs on any restoration project; (for example hidden rust beneath another metal structure), it is not possible to accurately forecast the cost of restoring a vehicle. The true cost is only revealed during the rebuilding process. It is for this reason that all of our restorations are done on a time/materials basis. Each project will hold its share of unique repair challenges.
Although, a somewhat accurate estimate could be made if the vehicle was first fully disassembled; - stripped of all body parts, chrome, glass, suspension, interior, paints and undercoating, etc. etc., every piece inspected, and documented individually, for condition and originality in addition, after the removal of all paint coatings, old collision damage, body dents and body rust would need to be evaluated. Obviously this disassembly and analysis alone would not be an inexpensive venture--especially if the customer decides not to go forward with the project. For the above reasons, initial cost estimates are simply a best guess proposition.
All restoration work is contracted on a Time & Materials basis. An advance deposit is required to start the project, and when that amount is used, further advance/retainers are required until the project is complete.
Remember, the idea of an "inexpensive restoration" is just one of the many myths held by people not fully understanding the true meaning and scope of the word. Auto restoration is not for everyone. The vehicle owner must make a substantial financial commitment before deciding to restore.
- Can I do an inexpensive restoration?
We will work to the level you desire. It's all up to the customer what they want to spend. However, Remember, the idea of an "inexpensive restoration" is just one of the many myths held by people not fully understanding the true meaning and scope of the word. Auto restoration is not for everyone. The vehicle owner must make a substantial financial commitment before deciding to restore.
- Will you work on my car at my location?
Yes, we have worked all over the country. The labour rate for on site, is $85 per man, per hour. If we need to travel to a location away from Central Florida, the customer is also responsible for travel, lodging, and a modest per diem.
- Can my car be restored?
Yes, any car can be restored, It all depends on if you want to pay for it. Henry Ford once said "there aint nothing on a car that can't be fixed."
- How long will it take?
A long time. To do this correctly, takes time. Any major restoration will take at least one full year. Obviously, less work takes less time. We can meet any timetable, it again comes down to a matter of cost.
- When can we get started?
Contact us, and we can check our schedule. Usually we have a waiting list around six months to a year. Any shop that can get you in right away is not busy. If they are not busy, you should ask yourself why?
